Bait Fish, Shrimp, Lobster, Crawfish Aeration
Individuals involved in the sales of aquatic life realize they must have the product live and viable in order to retain customers. Profits are contingent on the survival of the product you purchase.
What effect survival? Mainly water quality. In closed systems like aquariums this quality is maintained by external or internal filtration and aeration. The filteration unit through nitrifying bacteria converts waste products into nontoxic substances. The aeration provides oxygen and strips out ammonia, carbon dioxide and other toxic gases.
Today holding facilities are still aerated and flushed by water from nearby sources. The problem is the water quality. There are times when the water contains little or no oxygen. Oxygen in water from wells is generally low or non-existent. The only way oxygen is picked up is by splashing or spraying it into the tank.
Below is a photograph of a "Modern Air" Air Pump Model # 107AA18 unit and its effects in a small tank that holds approximately 3000 bait shrimp.
Larger units are available for larger installations. The below photograph shows a "Modern Air" Air Pump Model # 908AA22 providing aeration to a bait tank containing 5000 shrimp.
For small dealers our "Modern Air" Air Pumps will provide installations Rotron blowers can provide the volumes of air required.
